Easter 2009

April 12, 2009. The Easter Bunny came to visit Lincoln and brought him all sorts of fun things. Lincoln was really surprised this morning when he walked through the kitchen and saw a barn sitting in his playroom. He went straight for the barn, noting that there was a horse by saying 'neigh' and then headed for his Easter basket. He quickly pulled out each item, identifying the things he knows, 'ephalent', 'eebra', and 'yion' and for anything he didn't recognize, he pointed inquisitively, got our attention and said, 'dat?' Nothing like speaking your own child's language. Translation for all, "what is that?"

Lincoln got a new pair of cow boots to go puddle stomping. He is pointing and asking Erik to take him outside to walk in the puddles.

Lincoln found all the eggs that the Easter Bunny hid for him. Inside some of the eggs, Lincoln discovered chocolate chips. You can see below that he is enjoying his haul. Inside other eggs, Lincoln found 'monee' which he fed to his dragon bank. After he was sure the chocolate was all gone and he had fed the dragon all of the quarters he collected from the eggs, guess which one he wanted more of? No, he doesn't take after me...he could care less about the chocolate....he just wanted more money to put in the bank.

A new reading spot.

Happiness is a boy playing in his very own stable.

All of the animals came to check out the new barn. Lincoln had they all laying down to take a nap.

The Easter Bunny brought Lincoln lots of fun things to play with, but his favorite gift has to be the wind-up penguin which you can see clutched in his right hand. Penguin and Lincoln played together all day long, and the penguin even slept soundly in Lincoln's tight little fist.
