Lincoln Turns Two

March 17, 2009. Lincoln Thomas Walker is two years old. To celebrate his birthday day, which fell on a Tuesday this year, Erik and I took the day off and traveled to Baltimore with Lincoln to visit the aquarium. Lincoln was fascinated by the 'ish' both 'beeg ish' and 'littul ish.' He ran from tank to tank pointing and showing us all the underwater creatures as they swam by in front of him. Erik and I enjoyed seeing the amazement on his face during the dolphin show and how excited he got when the dolphins jumped high out of the water to do a trick. Lincoln has quite a vocabulary, but we were blown away by all the creatures he could identify. His time spent watching 'Nemo' appears to have paid off. All in all it was a great day and Lincoln had a blast. While he may not remember his two year old birthday day, we certainly will!!!

Look momma, bubbles!

Erik and Lincoln checking out the sharks.

Our independent two year old showing us that he is big enough to ride the escalator standing on his own two feet.

Checking out the fish.

We were lucky to have the opportunity to get an up close view of a turtle.

High up in the rain forest.

Erik contemplating whether to see if Lincoln has innate cave splucking abilities.
The fish get to go swimming, can I go too?

Enjoying a much needed snack. Erik and I purchased the large bucket of fries thinking we would have plenty to go around, but when Lincoln starting eating, we realized quickly that he can hold his own when it comes to putting away from fries. Erik and I had to stop eating them to make sure we had enough for Lincoln.

It was only fitting to end the day with a two year melt-down. Lincoln was so tired and when I said it was time to get his pjs on and go upstairs to read a book, he was not happy with me.

While crying, he decided to bury himself between the couches in hopes that I would forget about bedtime.
