Fieldtrip

April 26, 2011. Class fieldtrip to Air & Space Museum in Dulles. I got to join Lincoln and his class, the Bakers and the Coffee Brewers for a fun trip to see airplanes and the space shuttle followed by a picnic lunch on the playground. We all had a lot of fun - riding on a school bus is definitely a trip down memory lane. Funny Lincoln story - when all the kids were loaded on the bus and safely buckled, Ms. Lana did a quick roll-call. Instead of saying "here" when each child heard their name, Ms. Lana asked the children to say "Space." One by one, 16 children heard their name and responded by saying "space". Lincoln was the very last name called and he proudly spoke out to announce his presence with the word, "rocket." It was priceless. He was seated in the very front seat behind the driver and I was in the back. Despite being separated by rows of 4 year olds, thanks to the rearview mirror, Lincoln and I had a perfect line of sight to one another and we exchanged winks and smiles the entire ride.
Having a quick snack before heading inside.
Posing in the control tower.

Checking out the airplanes flying above the Dulles area.
Space shuttle!
Lincoln hanging with his guy friends, Jackson, Scott, and Giovanni.
Lincoln's favorite plane by far is the one that looks like a shark. The week following the fieldtrip, Erik took a trip to Vegas. Lincoln absolutely assumed that his daddy got to fly on a shark airplane.
Story time in the museum.
Lincoln at the controls inside the space shuttle simulator.

Back at school and enjoying a picnic lunch. Lincoln's favs - strawberries, crackers, carrots, and turkey.
