Big Boy Toys

April 19, 2009. Before heading back to Northern Virginia, Lincoln and I stopped in at Faye & Ralph's to see the great turning of the batteaux event. Ralph and Dad have worked for months to build a new "Anthony Rucker". They started with huge 40 foot lengths of lumber and after much sweat, many PBRs, and certainly a few minor injuries, it was time to turn the boat over. 30 plus people gathered to help rotate the giant vessel to reveal the hand shaped ribs. It was quite an event. Now let's hope the darn thing floats. As you can see from these pictures, in addition to the boat, there were plenty of big boy toys for all. A true playground for toddlers.

Lucky for Lincoln, Faye & Ralph have much to hold on to an original big wheel. Despite the tough love this trike experienced with Will & Taylor at the handlebars, this big wheel is still road worthy. Lincoln's shirt says it all. Emerson on the other hand was more interested in the gas powered ride.

The "Anthony Rucker" in all its glory.

Hanging out with Daddy Tom in the 'bieeg' boat.

Emerson adding his own finishing touches. Working man, complete with Elmo tattoo.

Lincoln relaxing while Emerson does all the work.

Which toddler will make it into the driver's seat first? Michael (2 years) and Emerson (23 months) are neck and neck, while Lincoln (2 years) watches on, knowing that if he just waits his turn, his mom will spare him the work and just lift him into the seat.

Driving the super boom.

Emerson enjoying his turn in the cage.
