Trick or Treat - 2011

October 31, 2011. The most fun Halloween yet. Lincoln (4 1/2 years) was super excited to be spiderman and Berkeley (22 months) couldn't have been a more perfect gnome. Surprisingly even Berkeley was happy to be suited up and though he only donned his hat and beard for a short time, he proudly worn it long enough for me to take some great pictures.

We walked the streets of our neighborhood in the safe company of not one but two spidermen as Lincoln's friend Dale also dressed in the famous red and blue suit. Together the two older boys ran from house to house, racing to see who would get to the door first. Early on Berkeley ditched his gnome mobile (the ride on car that we tagged as such) for the warmth of my arms, but after watching the big boys, he got into the spirit. About half way through trick or treating, Berkeley wanted to get down and started running up the sidewalk enthusiastically shouting, "Happy Ween, Happy Ween."

With only a handful of houses to go, Berkeley realized that when you went to the door and reached out your arms, the nice people inside handed you something. I don't think he realized that it was candy until we got home, but he didn't care as long as he was handed something.
Dale's father dressed as this strange horse man. It was truly creepy and Berkeley didn't like it one bit, but Erik and I got a big kick out of the costume - especially because Dale couldn't see very well so in addition to looking ridiculous he was actually stumbling about which added extra affect. Laura dressed as a pirate - Erik and I dressed as the Walkers.
Examining the loot!
