Memorial Day Weekend 2011

May 27 - May 30, 2011. The Rawlings Family (Kelly, Steve, Grayson, & Luke) joined us for the long, holiday weekend and boy did we have some fun. We started off our adventures with a trip to the Baltimore Harbor and National Aquarium. Though a bit on the crowded side, everyone really enjoyed themselves and the boys especially loved the sharks. Sunday we headed to the pool to kick-off the summer, and Monday we enjoyed splashing time on the deck. The pictures below tell the stories.

We established the rule that toes weren't supposed to cross from the brick onto the concrete. There was only a little limit testing and Grayson was the culprit.
The boys took turns operating the ships will and learning about how turning the wheel one way or the other moves the ship.

Captain Grayson!!!
We decided to cop a squat and have some lunch in the nearby park area. There were all sorts of toys to play with and Berkeley enjoyed watching the action.

The Rawlings family risking their lives for a picture.
Checking out the dolphins. We couldn't see an actual show, but the boys enjoyed watching the dolphins swim in the tank from below. There was a newly born baby dolphin so the show was cancelled to allow for bonding time between mama and baby.

I had never been to the jellyfish exhibit - it was super cool and definitely a must see.
Lincoln has about reached the end of his rope.
Check out the "biiig" shark swimming just above their heads.

My Grayson how you have changed.
Grayson and Lincoln showing off their bicycle skills.
Berkeley making a run for it with Luke's beloved "El." Berkeley is lucky that Luke didn't see this or there would have for sure been a throw down.
Refueling on the deck.
The pool, the pool, we are going to the pool.

Nothing like the joy of a poolside popsicle.
Admittedly I forgot to get a popsicle for Berkeley - just didn't think of him as old enough to eat one, but he proved me wrong by devouring my Snickers ice cream bar.

It took all weekend, but Berkeley finally warmed up to Steve.
