Berkeley - 17 Months

May 30, 2011. Berkeley Lennon Walker is now 17 months old and loves doing big boy things, including eating Popsicles. At his last check-up on May 5th, the pediatrician confirmed that all that food Berkeley loves to put in is resulting in one big, healthy boy. Berkeley weighs 28 lbs, 3 oz. (80th percentile), measures 31 1/2 inches tall (50th percentile), and has a good sized melon at 41 1/2 centimeters (70th percentile). In addition to loving his food and sleeping in his crib, Berkeley is starting to show signs of becoming a future soccer player. He loves to kick a ball around the cul de sac and can do so quite well with both feet. He demonstrates comprehension of all sorts of phrases and directions, and frequently points to things he both recognizes and things he wants to learn about. Berkeley regularly says the following words: mama, car, ball, bird, more, clock, and cup. He can point to all sorts of body parts when prompted, the best of which is his belly and his tongue. Berkeley loves his big brother. Just the other morning, he and I went in together to wake Lincoln. Berkeley clearly communicated through hand gestures that he wanted help getting up onto Lincoln's bed. I placed him at the foot of the bed and he immediately crawled over to Lincoln, patted him on his back, and laid his entire body across his still sleeping brother and smiled!!!
