Emerson Turns Two

May 22, 2009. Emerson Cade Bryant was born on May 27, 2007 at 1:07am. We celebrated his two year old birthday a couple of days early with a super fun guitar-themed party hosted by Ursula and Jeremy. Family and friends turned out for a backyard cook-out, and cake and ice cream. Ursula worked her artistic magic and made a fabulous cake - looks like a real guitar for sure. Emerson was on cloud nine, loving all the attention, presents, and children to play with.

Daddy Tom led us in a couple rounds of Happy Birthday. Emerson gave him the 'thumbs up' for a job well done.

Digging in !!! Emerson wanted to eat the ice cream, but found it difficult to keep it on the spoon. He resorted to using his hands, but very quickly realized that ice cream is cold. He would take a bite, and then cry to have his hands washed and warmed up.

Lincoln wasn't interested in cake, but Nana spoon fed him ice cream and he was super happy.

Present Time.

Emerson's Mimi and Pappa (Bryant Grandparents) gave him a shiny red fire engine and fireman's outfit. All the kids were very excited about the fire engine, but Emerson got to take the first spin of course.

More presents....yippee!!!

But the best present was saved for last. Ursula and Jeremy gave Emerson his very own jeep. Talk about one happy little boy. I didn't capture the actual moment of sheer glee, but believe me, when the garage door opened and Emerson saw a jeep, just his size, he was grinning from ear to ear. It only took a moment for him to learn how to push the gas and motor up the driveway (supervised of course).
