Sinkland Farms with the Rawlings
October 1, 2011. Sinkland Farms, Christiansburg, Virginia. What a beautiful place to spend time with our good friends the Rawlings. Despite the unseasonably cold weather, we bundled up and enjoyed our time roaming the pumpkin patch, visiting the farm animals, navigating the corn maze, climbing on hay bales, and pumpkin chuckin'.
This is by far the best picture Berkeley and I have ever taken together. Wow, what a cute little dude! 21 months old.

Lincoln had a blast taking a hayride out to the pumpkin patch and then exploring the hillside a midst the most pumpkins ever!

Berkeley and Erik all bundled up. Berkeley was not at all shy about letting us know he was cold. He didn't want to keep gloves on, but very much preferred to be wrapped up cozy in a blanket with his hands tucked inside.

Lincoln brought along "Flat Stanley" to experience the pumpkin patch. Flat Stanley is a good friend of Lincoln's teacher, Ms. Sandy at Reston Children's Center. In keeping with a favorite story book, Ms. Sandy made a life size Flat Stanley that gets to travel with the children in her class to locations all over the world. She has a map in her class with pushpins noting all the cool places he has visited. Some near and some far, including all the way to Thailand, France, China, and Germany. Lincoln put Christiansburg, VA on the map.

Pumpkin Chuckin'! Fun in theory, but actually quite dangerous. Kelly and Erik both got struck in the leg with a backfiring pumpkin, but poor Grayson took the worse blow straight to the forehead.

Lincoln finally has a stage. He is always asking me when he is going to be on a stage and get to dance and sing like the "Fresh Beats." For those of you who don't know, the Fresh Beats are Shout, Twist, Marina, and Kiki - four best friends in a band who go to music school together and love to sing and dance. Lincoln loves the show from start to finish!!! "It's a great day, the very best day to spend some time together....laaa la la la laaa laaa..."
