Shoes

August 8, 2011. Berkeley (19 1/2 months) loves, loves, loves playing with shoes. He works and works to get shoes on his feet, most of the time just hanging them over his toes, but he really enjoys the process. When he is not trying to put on his own shoes he is gathering up stray shoes in the house and trying to put them on my feet and Erik's feet. After a long day at work, the first thing I do when I get home is take off my shoes. I usually encourage Lincoln to do the same (which typically results in mulch all over the carpet) and then I help Berkeley take off his shoes. One would think that he would relish the action of getting his fat feet out of tight shoes, but not Berkeley. He strongly protests with many emphatic "no mamas" and if I go against his wishes and wrestle them off, he immediately brings them back to me, bloops in my lap and says, "sock, shoe, sock" over and over until I put them back on.
