Cowboy Small & Woody Boots
July 2, 2011. For months and months, Lincoln has been asking for a pair of "Woody boots." Like all the other toys, pets, and things that Lincoln regularly asks for, Erik and I always respond by saying "Okay, we will add that to your list." And I have to tell you, Lincoln's list would fill up an entire notebook by now. But back to the Woody boots. I have been on the lookout for a cool pair of little boy cowboy boots - they had to be the right price, leather, comfortable, and most of all cool. After hitting a few yard sales this morning, I headed to a consignment shop in Vienna as my search for good deals had taken me in the general direction. Jackpot - the perfect pair of boots for the right price ($15). I was so excited, so much so that there was no waiting to give Lincoln these boots for Christmas. Needless to say my excitement was matched by Lincoln's for sure. I put on my boots, Lincoln put on his boots, Berkeley donned a cowboy hat, and we had a regular hoe down in the family room. Lincoln has since worn the boots to school to show all of his friends and slept in them at naptime. He and I also took a trip to Dick's sporting goods together (in prep for our beach trip later this month), just the two of us wearing our cool boots. We got a few looks, but the attention was well-deserved because we were the best mother and son cowboys I have ever seen.
