Almost One Year, But Not Quite

At 11 months, Lincoln is full of energy and interested in pretty much everything. Holding him is a challenge sometimes as he twists and turns to try and touch things, and points with his outstretched arm. He loves grabbing Erik's hat and uses it to play peekaboo. One day when it was to cold to play outside, Lincoln had fun exploring pots and pans.

He got really mad at the spoon, or at least I thought he was mad...until I realized that he was working on another important job. I know it is bad to share Lincoln's personal moment, but the expression on his face cracks me up.

With Spring nearly upon us, we have had several warmer days and have definitely taken advantage. Although we have lots of big trees in our yard, none really work for hanging a swing. But our neighbors have the perfect willow tree and they have welcomed Lincoln to use their girls' swing whenever he likes. Based on his smiles, I think Erik and I are going to be spending a lot of time in our neighbor's yard.

Nothing like playing the piano to the smell of fresh mulch and sunshine. Lincoln was easily entertained while Erik and I worked in the yard.

Erik has put his handyman skills to work and built three masterful toy chests. The boxes are crafted out of red oak and really show off Erik's woodworking abilities. Lincoln now has a place for his toys in our family room and his room, and Lincoln's cousin Emerson has a new toy chest, too.

If this picture had sound, you would hear all sorts of jargon. Lincoln was having a conversation with his monkey. I couldn't get to the video camera fast enough, but wanted to capture the moment on film for my memory.
There is nothing better than a sweet smelling, squealing baby right after a bath.
